Bacon, Mushroom dip...mmmmm

8 Slices bacon
8oz. cream cheese
2 cloves garlic (crushed)
1 envelope dried onion soup mix
8oz. fresh mushrooms(sliced thinly)
8oz. sour cream
1/8 tsp. white pepper
salt to taste.

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from pan and crumble. Pour off most of bacon fat, reserving just enough to saute thinly sliced mushrooms and the crushed garlic. Add dried soup and cream cheese, simmer till fried mushrooms are soft. Add rest of ingredients, sour cream and  bacon(crumbled) last. Serve with assorted breads or crackers.
