Plain Roll Dough and Cinnamon Rolls Recipe Plain roll dough : 1 package active dry yeast, 1/4 cup water, 1 cup milk, scalded, 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons shortening, 1 teas, salt, 3/4 cups sifted flour, 1 egg. Soften active dry yeast in warm water. Combine milk, sugar, shortening, and salt; Cool to lukewarm. Add 1 cup of the flour; beat well. Beat in softened yeast and egg. Gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough, beating well. Cover and let rise in warm place till double (11/2 to 2 hours). CINNAMON ROLLS : On lightly floured surface roll 1/2 recipe of the Plain roll dough to 16 x 8 inch rectangle. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter, and 11/2 teas. cinnamon; spread over dough. Roll lengthwise; Cut in 1 in. slices. Place cut sides down in greased 9 x 9 x 2 in. pan. Cover; let rise till double ( 30 to 40 minutes). Bake in moderate oven at 375' 20 to 25 minutes. Remove pan. Makes 16 rolls. Repeat with other 1/2 of dough. Enjoy

Easy Microwave Peanut Brittle Recipe

Easy Microwave Peanut Brittle Recipe. This is always a good treat around the holiday season. 1 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup white corn syrup. Put these two ingredients in a 3-quart, microwave safe, casserole. Blend them together and then cook (in microwave) on high for 4 mins. Add 1 cup salted peanuts. Cook on high for 3 minutes more. Add 1 tsp. butter and 1 tsp. vanilla. Cook on high for 1 minute. Remove from microwave and add 1 tsp. baking soda. Stir thoroughly and spread on a buttered cookie sheet. Let this cool, break into pieces. You do not need to cover the casserole while cooking. Enjoy
