Winter Fruit Salad With Lemon Poppy Seed Dressing Recipe. Dressing: 1/2 c. sugar 1/3 c. lemon juice 2 teas. onion, finely chopped 1 teas. Dijon mustard 1/2 teas. salt 2/3 c. olive oil 1 teas. poppy seeds Salad ingredients: 1 lg. head romaine lettuce 1 c. or 4 oz. swiss cheese, shredded 1 c. cashews, chopped 1/4 c. craisens, chopped 1 red apple cubed (peel on) 1 Anjour pear, cubed (peel off) Blend all the dressing ingredients except poppy seeds. Then add poppy and blend them just long enough to mix them into the dressing. Toss all salad ingredients with dressing, and enjoy. Makes 6 servings. The Beginning of Cookbooks

GRANDPA'S AMAZING RED CABBAGE RECIPE

Grandpa's amazing red cabbage recipe 3 to 4 slices of bacon, crisply and crumbled 2 T. bacon drippings 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. white vinegar or apple cider vinegar 1/4 c. water 1/2 t. salt Dash of pepper 1 sm. onion, leave whole, peeled 5 whole cloves 4 c. red cabbage, shredded 2 c. apples, decored, peeled and sliced Heat bacon crumbles and drippings, blend in brown sugar, vinegar, water, salt and pepper. Stick whole cloves into onion. Combine cabbage, apples and onions in a large pot, add bacon mixture. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally for 30 minutes, remove onion and serve. Great with pork roast, chops or tenderloin!
